Spent a few days with the guys at Heehaw, operating in a variety of settings for Edinburgh Napier University for promotional materials for the university. Shooting on the Sony FS7 and adding a variety of camera moves to the piece with the DJI Ronin, as well as shooting interview with students and key figures within faculty at the university.
Recently operated and shot on the music video for We Are England Euro 2016 on the Canon C300, DJI Ronin and EasyRig system. It was a great day working with Andrea Vecchiato our amazing director and shooting Bez and Shaun Ryder. Big thanks to my amazing assistants on the day Greg Vickers and Ric Lowe, couldn't have done it without their help.
Recently shot with Coolbox for a new video for Tamdhu whisky, focusing on the production of their 50 year old special edition, released early next year.
We spent the day filming the glass blowers at Dartington Crystal in Devon. The guys are working with material from the 1100°c ovens to produce the crystal bottle, that will eventually be decorated with silver, gold & platinum.
Primarily shot with the FS700 at 200fps, along with a few establishers on the full framed A7s.
Filming with Ric Lowe for the excellent band Mammal Hands for their new release "Hourglass". Working closely with Ric to light the video (read: playing about with gels!) and general camera assisting and playback for the band and to sync in post.
Filmed a gig video with Ric Lowe at the wonderful St. Peters Halles. It was great evening of awesome music and operating the 60D with a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens. Looking forward to seeing the edit soon!
I recently worked with Chris Green (dir) and Paul Andrew Robinson (DoP) the short film "Broken Glass" featuring Lauren Socha and Emily Atack. It was a fantastic couple of days shooting with Paul and Oliver Coward (1st AC), I worked predominantly as a 2nd AC and data wrangler for the shoot, however I stepped up to focus pulling for a few of the final shots which was challenging but hugely rewarding.
Look out for the finished product soon.
I collaborated on a short film titled G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) for the 'My RØDE Reel 2015' film competition with writer/director Greg Vickers.
The story centres on a group of self confessed gear junkies as a series of comical vignettes covering the many facets of G.A.S.
We shot on the Kinemini 4K raw camera, deliberately creating a dark and moody looking scene to replicate the idea of a late night support group meeting. As a fun aside I am actually portrayed as a character in the short film. Once it has finished production I'm sure it wont take many guesses to figure out who I am meant to be!
